Uninformed strikers upset about permits
Strikers have blocked off a small section of Dr Beyers Naudé Street with trees and burning tyres.
According to a few Toyota Avanza taxi drivers, who have been pulled over and asked for transport permits, transport permits fell away a couple of years ago but the drivers were never informed they had to reapply for them.

One of the strikers told www.mobserver.co.za that he uses his vehicle for personal use also, “I left my house to buy bread at the garage and the traffic officers stopped me and asked me for my permit. How is that fair? They never informed us that we should get transport permits again,” said the driver.
Police are currently on the scene.
