Police launch search for abducted MM, suspects

The SAPS have launched a search for the abducted Municipal manager of the Nkangala District Municipality and her driver, as well as the suspects linked to their kidnapping.

According to a press release issued by the Provincial Commissioner of Mpumalanga, a case of kidnapping has been registered at the Middelburg SAPS following the alleged kidnapping of Nkangala District Municipal Manager Ms Maggie Skhosana and her driver, Ms G. Mtsweni, on Thursday.

According to information, it is alleged that the victims were attacked at the Nkangala District Municipality’s gate before they could enter.

Reports indicate that the victims were stopped by suspects in a white sedan wearing police uniform.

Both vehicles were seen driving to the same direction following each other.

Immediately after the incident was reported, police launched an investigation and the victim’s vehicle was recovered abandoned in one of the surrounding mines.

The MM’s wheelchair and other properties believed to be belonging to the victims were also recovered in the abandoned vehicle, with no sight of the victims.

No arrest was made so far.
