Care Village lights festival underway
The Middelburg Care Village Lights Festival kicked off last evening and will be eagerly welcoming more visitors in the coming weeks.
The event, excluding Sundays, will be held daily until December 17.
An entry fee of R20 is required to enjoy the festivities, with a mix of food and retail stalls being available, as well as a coffee shop.
The festival takes place in evenings, during the hours of 18:00-21:00.
Rain may be a cause of delay with the opening yesterday evening being temporarily cancelled due to the heavy rainfall. There will be stalls that remain open due to being indoors, unfortunately the lights will not be able be turned on during any rainy periods.
Load shedding however, will not be an issue as the facilities are equipped with a generator to combat any potential lack of electricity this holiday season.
Families looking to feel full of festive spirit should come and witness the glittering display of lights placed all across the venue, as well as sing or hum along to their favourite Christmas carols.
Members of the community are encouraged to come support, enjoy and view the attractions on offer.
This is all in service of supporting the Middelburg Care Village, who have taken in, helped and given care to countless children in need. There is no better way to catch the festive fever than to join the community in an annual celebration such as this.
