Touchdown for South Africa

Former Middelburg Rugby Club captain Louis Roos, living now in America, has taught his sons the true South African way of doing things.

As a legend in local rugby, Louis was sure to teach his children a thing or two, except this time, the try-line has been swapped for an end zone.

His son Luan has translated what his dad taught him into the American version of football, where he can be seen gliding past the outstretched arms of the opposition, leaving them in his dust with skills eerily reminiscent of his father’s old moves.

Luan wasn’t the only boertjie to add his name to the scoresheet, as his brother Janru scored his first-ever 2-point conversion in the same game! Isn’t that just lekker.

Louis and his wife Mariaan live with their children in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, and following South Africa’s World Cup triumph over the weekend, Luan and Janru are certainly showing the USA that we are not to be trifled with, either in our sports or theirs.
