Thieves break into Councillor Mr Johann Dyason’s home, steal everything

While on Christmas holiday with his wife Annathie, thieves broke into local Councillor Mr Johann Dyason's home, ransacking the property.

After exactly one week away in Belfast, Mr Dyason and his wife Annathie arrived at their home in Kanonkop this morning to find a smashed window and broken burglar bars.

Inside they discovered that all of their electronic items had been stolen, alongside other household items such as their duvet covers.

Mr Dyason said that the house had a mobile alarm, but the area where the couple resided on holiday had no reception, making it impossible to be notified if a break in were to take place.

The following items were taken; two televisions, a radio, a vinyl record player, a DVD player, a gas bottle, a laptop and the alarm system.

Mr Dyason told the Middelburg Observer, “My entire life is on that laptop, we are devastated by this incident.”

Mr Dyason also stated that the police are at the scene and have given him a case number. He further noted that he has contacted his insurance company regarding the incident.

At this stage, it is unclear how many thieves there were, or on what night they broke into the Dyason’s home.

If you have any information please contact Mr Dyason on 083 241 3153.
