Reminder: Middelburg Marathon Club to host race in memory of Usher Bell tonight

In what is sure to be an emotional night, the Middelburg Marathon Club will host the next edition of their scaly 5 Night Race Series this evening at Hoërskool Kanonkop.

This marks the series’ return after the winter break, with the race to begin at 18:00.

Tonight is also the first Marathon Club-hosted event since the tragic passing of the well-known and widely beloved Usher Bell, who worked voluntarily as the lead car driver for many of the organisation’s races.

A 4.9km and a 10km race will be held, with registration available an hour earlier at 17:00.

The fees are as follows: R50 is required for the 4.9km, R80 for the 10km, and R40 for an ASA temporary licence.

Prizes of up to R400 are up for grabs in the open category for men and women.
