Policeman in court for murder

A policeman from Belfast will be appearing in court today.

A police sergeant (45) from the Visible Policing Unit in Belfast will appear in the Belfast Magistrate’s Court today on a murder charge.

Brig. Donald Mdhluli (provincial media office) confirmed that the policeman was arrested in connection with the murder of his wife.]

The woman was shot at a house in Siyathuthuka.

Mdhluli said the incident happened on April 18, and a firearm was seized from the police sergeant.

The case was handed over to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate.
