Kees Taaljaard’s clean-up in progress

The area was filled with litter, and residents raised concerns.

Municipal workers were seen hard at work this afternoon, cleaning the Kees Taaljaard Sports Complex.

The Middelburg Observer journalist visited the area again at around 13:30 and found a team of municipal workers cleaning the area.

Workers cleaned the area.

Earlier today, the Observer reported that the sports complex was in a state of disarray after the municipality hosted a viewing of the Soweto derby yesterday afternoon.

The area was filled with litter, and residents raised concerns.

The municipal spokesperson, Lerato Kgomo, said the area would be cleaned, and soon after, it was indeed clean.
