WATCH: ‘Where’s law enforcement’ tired residents ask over growing noise pollution

Even one night's sleep impossible for some residents.

The municipality is flouting its own bylaws, despite establishing its own ‘metro-cop style unit’ to enforce the town’s nuisance regulations.

Middelburg Observer has been inundated with complaints throughout the town, with residents fuming over businesses near or in residential suburbs, as well as spiteful neighbours, and night spots like taverns and bars making a racket until the wee hours of the mornings.

The cabal often only ends on Monday mornings, with more than 200 Gholfsig and Clubville residents mandating local attorney André Brandmuller to force the municipality and its law enforcement unit to do their jobs.

But, it is not the only area where residents want peace and quiet.
