Body found on N11 after tip-off

CPF members and police responded to a grim discovery along the N11 this afternoon. Speculation is rising as investigations into a missing resident continue.

A body was discovered along the N11 between Middelburg and Hendrina earlier today (June 9), prompting an ongoing police investigation.

Community Policing Forum members from Pullenshope, Hendrina and Middelburg reportedly responded after receiving information about a possible body in the area.

Upon arrival, a deceased man was found near a roadway.

According to preliminary information from the scene, the man is believed to have been shot; however, police have not yet officially confirmed the cause of death.

The discovery has sparked speculation among community members after sources at the scene suggested the deceased bears a resemblance to a Middelburg-based linen salesman, Ahmed Ramadhan, who was reported missing last Friday (June 5).

Ramadhan was last seen in the Nazareth area, and at the time of his disappearance, he was reportedly driving a white Ford Bantam bakkie.

Family members previously indicated that his phone was switched off just before 15:00 last Friday afternoon.

At the time of publication, no official identification of the man had been made, and authorities had not confirmed any connection between the body found along the N11 and the missing person case.

Police investigations are continuing.
