Six nabbed during Middelburg drug bust

The suspects are appearing at the Middelburg Magistrate’s Court today.

Six suspects, aged between 32 and 38, have been arrested for drug possession following a successful joint operation by local police units yesterday.

The arrests were carried out by members of the Middelburg Crime Prevention Unit and the Middelburg Crime Intelligence Group during a self-initiated crackdown on local drug dealing.

According to Warrant Officer Nonhlanhla Mdluli, police searched a suspect’s vehicle allegedly used to transport and distribute illegal substances and discovered multiple sachets of crystal meth.

“During the operation, police seized a quantity of crystal methamphetamine along with the suspect’s vehicle, both of which have been officially booked into the SAPS 13 evidence store,” Mdluli said.

All six suspects are appearing in the Middelburg Magistrate’s Court today.
