Road and stormwater project well underway

The development of the Malaeneng A Ntwane access road and stormwater control in Dennilton, Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality, is almost complete.

The project, involving the upgrading of a 3.5km road and stormwater control system, amounts to R29.5m and is currently at 94% completion.

Simon Makua, municipal spokesperson, said 30 locals are temporarily employed in the project, while 25 subcontractors benefitted through construction opportunities.

Makua added that the development’s objective is to ensure traffic and pedestrian safety and an effective stormwater management system in the area.

In response to the current status of the project, community members took to the municipality’s Facebook page to share their views.

Paledi Oom Sharlock wrote, “I hope the completion of this project will solve water flow and soil erosion in the area. Job well done, and continue to build great infrastructure for our municipality. We are now waiting for the completion of the water project in the area.”

Josephine Mokoena commented, “Good work, keep it up,” urging the municipality to also consider Magakadimeng, Uitspanning B, which she cited is being neglected in terms of service delivery.

The municipal spokesperson stated that the development started on November 6, 2023, and is expected to be completed on September 30.
