Mystery surrounding man’s murder

No arrests have been made, and authorities are appealing to the public for information.

Police are continuing their search for suspects following the murder of a 45-year-old man whose body was discovered outside his home in Driefontein.

Lebotse Piet Sebothoma’s body was found lying in the street on May 27 near his residence in the Matlerekeng policing area.

According to Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, officers responded to the scene and subsequently opened a murder case.

The body was later positively identified by a woman claiming to be Lebotse’s mother, who said her son lived alone in a nearby house.

The police reported that Lebotse had sustained severe injuries to his upper body, including a deep wound on the back of his head.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Lebotse’s house had been left open, and household items were found scattered inside, raising questions regarding the murder.

No arrests have been made as yet.

The police have appealed to anyone with information that could assist with the investigation to contact Sergeant Gezani Hlongwane on 064 756 8009, Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or their nearest police station. Information can also be submitted anonymously through the My SAPS App.
