Hazy skies and poor air quality to start the week

The week begins with warm temperatures and very unhealthy air quality before clearer conditions arrive later in the week.

Groblersdal residents who are prone to allergies and respiratory sensitivities may want to keep tissues close at hand this week, with very unhealthy air quality conditions forecast for the first two days of the week.

Monday is expected to bring hazy sunshine, with air quality predicted to remain at very unhealthy levels throughout the day and into the evening. Temperatures are forecast to reach a warm 29°C during the afternoon before dropping sharply to around 5°C overnight.

Similar conditions are expected on Tuesday, although slightly cooler weather is forecast. The mercury is expected to peak at 26°C, while the overnight low will be around 6°C. Hazy sunshine is expected to persist throughout the day, accompanied by another period of very unhealthy air quality.

Wednesday is expected to remain sunny but hazy, with daytime temperatures reaching 23°C and an overnight low of 5°C. Clear skies are forecast for the evening.

Thursday will bring plenty of sunshine and pleasant winter conditions, with temperatures reaching a high of 23°C before dropping to 5°C overnight. Clear skies are expected after sunset.

Conditions are expected to improve further towards the end of the week, with sunny weather forecast for Friday. Temperatures are expected to reach 25°C during the day, while crystal-clear evening skies accompany a low of 6°C.

A warm and sunny Saturday is on the cards, with temperatures climbing to 27°C. Evening conditions are expected to remain clear, with temperatures dipping to around 8°C overnight.

Sunday will round off the week with more sunshine and a pleasant maximum temperature of 26°C. Clear evening skies are expected once again, with temperatures falling to approximately 8°C.

Residents with allergies, asthma or other respiratory conditions are encouraged to limit prolonged outdoor exposure during periods of poor air quality and to monitor symptoms closely during the first half of the week.
