A groundbreaking educational experience, EpiCentre, launched at The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall

The centre marks a pivotal moment for the campus as it continues to redefine educational excellence for the betterment of the students and the broader community.

The first EpiCentre, a state-of-the-art facility at The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall campus, has been launched to enhance the student learning experience across various faculties.

This marks a significant milestone for the campus as it strives to redefine educational excellence for students and the broader community.

The expansion includes three key facilities: The Collaboratorium for Digital Learning, The Moot Court, and The HIVE (Hub for Innovation, Ventures, and Entrepreneurship), each designed to equip students with essential skills and practical experiences in their fields.

Avadhi Ghela, campus head at Waterfall, stated: “As the pioneer of The IIE’s Varsity College EpiCentre, our campus aims to be the preferred choice in Gauteng for students pursuing qualifications in law, education, and computer science.

“The launch of the EpiCentre represents a major advancement in our commitment to students, not only in education but also in providing them with the tools and experiences necessary for their careers.

The EpiCentre will promote collaboration, innovation, and real-world skills crucial for today’s job market. We will partner with industry leaders in education, law, and IT to incorporate real-world challenges and case studies into the curriculum, ensuring students can apply theoretical knowledge practically.”

The Moot Court replicates a courtroom, allowing law students to engage in mock trials and legal proceedings, enhancing their critical thinking, public speaking, and negotiation skills.

At the Collaboratorium for Digital Learning, students can explore virtual environments, collaborate on projects, and utilize digital tools prevalent in modern classrooms.

The HIVE, designed for Faculty of Computer Science students, serves as a creative incubator where they can collaborate on innovative projects, simulating team dynamics found in real-world organisations.
