Dream season for Dubula Stars as juniors lead the club to new heights

Dubula Stars United FC turned heads this season, finishing at the top of two leagues and pushing hard in every age group.

Rabie Ridge football club, Dubula Stars United FC, has delivered on its promise to dominate the Midrand Local Football Association’s Kanana Stream, closing off the season with standout performances across all junior divisions.

The club, led by coach Sydwell Ramakokovhu, produced one of its strongest campaigns to date, finishing second in the U11 and U15 divisions and clinching first place in both U13 and U17. This year’s log tables showed a tight three-team race, with Dubula Stars consistently challenging rivals M Superstars and Lion Atteckers for top honours.

In the U11 stream, Dubula Stars secured second place behind M Superstars, who took 19 points from eight matches. Dubula wrapped up the division with 13 points, with Lion Atteckers settling for third.

The U13 team, however, proved unstoppable. Ramakokovhu’s young talents topped the log with an impressive 39 points from 16 games, scoring 27 goals and conceding only seven. They finished 10 points clear of second-placed M Superstars.

The U15 division saw another tight contest. M Superstars finished on 44 points, while Dubula Stars followed closely with 34, edging out Lion Atteckers by a single point.

In the U17 category, Dubula advanced with authority, finishing top of the stream with 19 points from seven games.

Rising star Blessing Skhosana stole the show, being named overall Outstanding Player of the Season or Player of the Season for the U13, U15 and U17 divisions. He also claimed the top goal scorer accolade after netting a remarkable 56 goals, a new club record.

Seven-year-old Nkosinathi Nyembezi, who dominated the U11 division, walked away with the Player of the Season title as well as the Most Promising Player award. Best defender honours went to Sandlie Vundla (U15) and Moloi Kgosi (U17).

Ramakokovhu said the season’s achievements reflect the club’s hard work, consistency and determination.

“The triumph means bigger adventures are unlocking,” he said. “Now we have to defend our titles, excel, and keep the momentum going. It’s a proud moment for the organisation, patience and hard work really do pay off.”

He added that the club’s U17 side will compete in playoffs next season, with the possibility of earning promotion should they win.

Looking ahead, Ramakokovhu said the club aims to produce more high-quality players and instil a winning mentality across all age groups.

He expressed gratitude to assistant coach Dumisane Meela, the parents, the City of Johannesburg Sports and Recreation team, Kanana Stream clubs, coaches, and the executive committee.
