The Flagship Open FootGolf Tournament showcases the growth of footgolf in SA
FGSA president Norman Mphake noted with particular pride the exceptionally high level of competition and the standard of play that prevailed across all categories, which was truly impressive.
The Flagship Open FootGolf Tournament on March 1 at the Urban Life Church FootGolf Course, showcased some exhilarating competition across various categories that truly captivated all who attended.

This event followed closely on the heels of the highly successful Punters Paradise tournament, which had the honour of launching the FootGolf South Africa (FGSA) season on February 1.

In the fiercely contested men’s category at the Flagship Open, Letlhogonolo Masinda emerged as the champion after an intense best-of-three tie-breaker against Nkululeko Ndaliso. Ndaliso performed admirably, ultimately finishing in a strong second place, while Warren Osborne showcased his talents as he rounded out the top three by claiming the third position.

The excitement continued in the women’s category, where, in a top-notch display of skill and determination, Mpho Makua ultimately triumphed, taking first place. Mokhopa put in a solid effort to secure the second position, while Kefilwe finished in third place, completing a competitive podium for the women’s division.
Turning to the senior men’s category, the competition was equally fierce, with Clinton White asserting himself to claim the top spot in this age group. Following closely behind, Scott Keevy exhibited commendable skill and determination, finishing in a respectable second place, with Sebastian Peterson completing the senior men’s podium by finishing third.

The atmosphere was palpable as spectators cheered on their favorite players, and FGSA president Norman Mphake expressed his enthusiasm for the fantastic tournament, calling it nothing short of spectacular.
“The event featured ideal weather, an outstanding course, a diverse range of participants, dedicated sponsors, and enthusiastic spectators,” Norman explained. “Most notably, the high level of competition and the standard of play across all categories was truly impressive. I was also delighted by the spirit and independence of our junior category, which included remarkable performances by learners from St Vincent School for the Deaf.”
