Audi’s RS3 Sedan hits the Nürburgring with 298kW

At this moment, nothing is official but highlights could include Nappa leather sport seats, a leather / Alcantara flat-bottomed steering wheel, and stainless steel pedals.

Audi’s fastest hatch, the RS3 was spotted undergoing testing in and around the Nürburgring in Germany.

The upcoming RS3 is aimed at tackling the Mercedes-AMG CLA45 and as per spy shots, the car features an aggressive front fascia with larger air intakes and honeycomb mesh grille inserts. The car has also been equipped with sportier side skirts, a rear spoiler, and a massive dual exhaust system.

Audi is still keeping its mouth shut in terms of what the interior looks like but we speculate it will look like that one of the RS3 Sportback, and apparently featuring a much-twinkled cabin.

At this moment, nothing is official but highlights could include Nappa leather sport seats, a leather / Alcantara flat-bottomed steering wheel, and stainless steel pedals.  We can also expect plenty of RS branding and carbon fiber or “Aluminium Race” trim.

In terms of engine specifications, Audi will likely bestow a 298kW turbocharged 2.5-litre engine that produces around 298kW. Power will be sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Performance specifications remain unconfirmed but rumours suggest the car could accelerate from 0-100km/h in approximately four seconds before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 250km/h.

The Audi RS3 Sedan is expected to be unveiled later this year so look for a possible debut at either the Paris or Los Angeles Auto Show.

Expect to hear more about the Audi RS3 sedan in the next few months, but AudiSA hasn’t confirmed whether the model will be hitting SA dealership floors.
