Minister ploughs 67 gardens for Mandela Day
Their day is planned to commence with a breakfast with elders and disabled people at Saul Mkhizeville Library which will be soon followed by a launch of a soup kitchen.

DRIEFONTEIN- The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, General Bheki Cele together with Mpumalanga MEC for Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs, Mr Andries Gamede will today do community work and plough gardens for 67 households during a Mandela Day legacy Project aimed at honouring Madiba.
Their day is planned to commence with a breakfast with elders and disabled people at Saul Mkhizeville Library which will be soon followed by a launch of a soup kitchen.
“Honouring Mandela’s legacy can be more meaningful if South Africa and can significantly reduce the number of 14 million people who go to bed without food,” said Cele.
In line with the concept of 67 minutes of community work, 67 households will benefit from household gardens at Saul Mkhizeville, the households will further receive food parcels, garden tools, school uniform and blankets.
The two together with their entourage will further hand over 700 trees at Mkhondo Municipality as part of the Legacy Project for the upcoming World Forestry Congress.
