It’s probably going to be the smash hit during the upcoming festive season, and we are willing to put our money on it. Known to his fans and listeners as The Prince, Charles Mnisi’s latest offering is a dancefloor breaker.

The single called “Smile”, features songbird, Shota, and it’s a must have, for those of us who love house music.

“The music video is out, and the song is currently on high rotation in all the SABC radio stations in the country, the demand was there, and the supply has finally come. I’m happy about the single, and the fact that it is well received out there,” said The Prince.

This ecstatic young man is certainly a jack of many trades in the industry. He currently produces the midday show in Ligwalagwala FM, Khibika Natsi, and is the host of two different shows over the weekend.

“I do two shows over the weekend, one is on Saturday morning, L FM Top 20, and one on Sunday, where we wrap up the weekend, from 22:00 to midnight. I love radio, and I have come a long way with it, my journey started in 2009, at a community radio station in Turfloop,” he said.

According to The Prince, his upcoming album, My World, will see many bigger names in the industry, and it will definitely be a must-have for house music lovers.

“The lyrics in all the songs are very sentimental to me, I am letting people into my world, and I know for sure that they will love it.
The fact that my latest single is on high rotation right now, says a lot about how the album will do. It will be dropped some time next year, we still have to master every little thing on the songs, respectively,” he added.

The 33-year-old from Mahushu, weighed in on the state of the music industry in the province, and he felt there was a lot that could still be done.

“We lack unity, it’s every artist for him/herself, and that will not take us anywhere. When we stop looking at one another as competitors, and start working together and supporting one another, we will definitely make it.

I am all for Mpumalanga, and I know that we will get there one day, I will be hosting workshops for the upcoming artists soon, this will form part of my CSI projects.”

The Prince is also a club DJ, and he can be contacted on Facebook as The Prince SA, Twitter and Instagram as @Theprincethedj, and theprincethedj@gmail.com. His single, “Smile”, is also available on iTunes for download.
