Pienaar SAPS visited E J Singwane Secondary School
Crime is mostly caused by children who drop out and it affecting the youth, Pienaar SAPS took a stand in doing awareness campaigns to schools on various issues that affects learners.

PIENAAR-In celebrating women’s month, the Pienaar SAPS recently visited EJ Singwane Secondary School to talk to learners about rape and drug abuse.
They touched on the disadvantages of late coming at school and the ignorance of the school code of conduct. Police spokesperson, Lt Jabu Ndubane explained that the visit to the school makes a huge difference to the police and how they see crime affecting the youth.
“We noticed crime is mostly caused by children who drop out from school. We, therefore, urged learners to be disciplined and to be punctual for their school activities so that can have a bright future and be disciplined at their workplace in the future.
“Our duty is not only to arrest but also to do awareness campaigns to schools on various issues that affects learners, for them to make wise decisions about their lives,” she said.
Mpumalanga News learnt that the school has its own project called, Girls and Boys Educational Movement (GBEM), where they encourage all learners to focus on education and build up their future.
Chairperson of the GBEM Tsepiso Modipane,elaborated on the functions of the movement, “We need all students to come up and join us in helping each other to achieve better results at school, we are not perfect but we can do better, hence we need support from everyone including the community and the school so we can achieve our dreams. We also thank the police for their support” said Modipane.
