Bushbuckridge hosts exclusive event to boost tourism in the region
The Bushbuckridge Local Municipality partnered with Nabalabantfu Group and the MTPA to create an exciting event that aimed to boost tourism and to promote social cohesion.
An exclusive and sought-after event, the Sunset Safari Dinner, recently offered the perfect upper class and gourmet lifestyle experience to enjoy the tourism sites the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality (BLM) has to offer.
Set outdoors at the Manyeleti Game Reserve on Saturday, December 14, this was one unforgettable hallmark event that offered an elite atmosphere that included full access to the game reserve, a safari drive and a dinner consisting of game.
It attracted people from across Mpumalanga and outside the province. Patrons dressed in their safari outfits enjoyed the flowing drinks and danced the afternoon away to classical music.
The proceedings were graced by the BLM’s executive mayor, Lydia Moroane, the municipal manager, Jasper Ngobeni, and several MMCs.
Manyeleti Game Reserve is a provincial nature reserve located adjacent to the western boundary of the Kruger National Park, and is managed by the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA).

The BLM partnered with an events company, the Nabalabantfu Group, and the MTPA to create and maintain the most exciting tourism, music, arts and fashion event within the municipality, and to promote social cohesion.
Addressing the attendees, Moroane said this event was the start of something great to be experienced within the municipality. “We want to revive our tourism offerings and attract people to stay in Bushbuckridge when they are visiting the country. We have beautiful tourism resources and attractions we need to take advantage of, to boost our economy as well. This is a great example of what we aim to do. To everyone who is here, invite your families and friends and visit Bushbuckridge and see for yourself what we have to offer,” she said.

Ngobeni echoed her. “The Manyeleti Game Reserve is the perfect location that offers a variety of entertainment, whether safaris, family holidays or just to have a good time. We want these Sunset Safari Dinners to put the municipality on the map. We appreciate the partnerships formed to create this signature event, such as the Nabalabantfu Group and the MTPA, among other businesses that contributed to the success,” he said.
