Event empowers Emakhazeni farmers

Dardlea partnered with Grain SA to deliver this informative event that saw farmers coming out to learn new methods.

Farmers from around Emakhazeni Local Municipality gathered at Blinkwater Farm in Stoffberg for an interactive and insightful Farmers’ Day on grain production. It was hosted by Grain SA on Friday, April 24.

Over 150 farmers, including members of the Emakhazeni Study Group, attended.
Grain SA also supported the group by providing critical knowledge to boost productivity and sustainability in grain farming.

According to Dardlea’s provincial spokesperson, Zanele Shabangu, the information-packed session addressed practical challenges faced by grain producers, with expert presentations on various matters.

“Issues discussed includes planting techniques and timing, variety selection based on specific soil types, and local environmental conditions. Soil conservation based on methods to protect and improve soil health; crop protection, with Bayer focusing on effective maize disease and pest management strategies.”

Shabangu said Dardlea continues to partner with industry leaders like Grain SA to bring practical, relevant information directly to farming communities.
