Soccer fans will gather at the local stadium on Saturday to watch the Msogwaba Derby South African Football Association league u/15 as Nelspruit’s Angels Club take on against Black Band Rovers.

Both teams are based in Msogwaba. Since the beginning of the tournament, the players have been committed to take the league honours.

Black Band Rovers is in position one on the log with 31 points and Nelspruit Angels obtained the second position with 29 points.

The derby will decide which team are going to take the honours.

In an interview with the director of Nelspruit Club Angels, Sam Mnisi told Mpumalanga News that even though his boys are in second position, they are confident of winning.

“My team is well prepared for the derby and I’m very confident that they will be the champs. I can even see the mood during training sessions that they are eager to take the cup. Come Saturday, my boys are ready to make history,” he said.

The derby will be graced by Chief Hlungu Nkosi.

According to Mnisi, the wonderful performance of his team over the weekend proved that they were more than ready as they defeated TK Stars Msogwaba by 2-0.

Mnisi said so far he was happy that the boys were going in the right direction in terms of improving their skills.

Last month they represented Mpumalanga in the Spur Siyadlala tournament held in Johannesburg.

”Even though they were defeated in the finals last week when they played in Witbank against Academy, they were not discouraged. We are still aiming high,“ he added.

Meanwhile, other teams are preparing themselves for the mayoral cup tournament starting in October.
