The SAB Castel Lite under Mngwenya stream qualifying for the last 32 Nedbank Knockout is still on.

Academy FC based in Pienaar, which is the first to come in the Nedbank games, defeated Mighty Bees 1-0 at Msogwaba Stadium last week and again on Sunday they maintained their dignity during the top four games that was held at Barberton prison farm grounds after they won 5-4 during a penalty shoot-out against Mdluli FC From Mataffeni.

This was after they played to a 3-3 draw of 3-3. Other teams that were part of the tournament were Kanyamazane Celtic that played against Green Mamba FC from Matsulu. That was a tough game, but at the end of the day Kanyamazane Celtic won by 3-2 which led them to proceed to the finals.

They played against Academy FC which was also a draw of 0-0. Both teams were forced to go to a penalty shoot-out where Acedemy defeated Kanyamazane FC by 3-2.

Speaking to the newly-appointed manager of the team after their beautiful performance, Sam Mnisi said: “I’m over the moon with our performance. This means that we are still moving in the good direction. It also gives us confidence that will win the trophy in the end.

“All I’m praying is for my boys not to lose focus and be disciplined at all times. They really show they were not just playing,” he said.

He added that he’s aware that this is not going to be an easy journey since they still have a long way to go as they will be playing against powerful teams such Mbombela United.

He added: “Our performance has instilled a positive attitude, but we still have a long way to go. We have to face teams like Mbombela United, but all I can say is that “Batawubona umbani sewufikile uma kungena I Academy FC ngoba asidlali siyabhacabula we are going to win,“ he concluded.
