Austin McGuire of Mafikeng, affectionately known to his fans as Dez Austin and at a tender age of 14, is already making waves in the world of spinning.
“I started spinning cars last September and I had no teacher but I was drawn to fast cars from an early age.
“My father put me on a motorbike when I was six years old and that was when it all started because from there on my curiosity for the sport started to grow.
“Then my grandfather bought me a bike and I have been riding ever since, but spinning cars is much more fun,” said Dez.
“We fully support him as his parents and we feel he is not out at night committing crime or doing drugs so we guide him to steer clear of any negativity. We always take him to the events when he is booked to spin to make sure he is safe and nobody takes advantage of him.
“We will let him do this for as long as it does not interfere with his studies because even though he is enjoying this, school always come first and that is how it will remain,” commented his mother and number-one fan, Celeste McGuire.
James Mvuleni, the owner and founder of Spin City KaNyamazane is developing this spot into one of the most lively entertainment centres in this busy township of Lekazi.
“I like entertaining people and I am certain that they love watching these monster cars drift and spin during the day and night. And, this is what I give them, young and old share the same thrill and I make sure everybody is safe and secure with the presence of the police, fire department and ambulance,” said Mvuleni.
The next spinning session at KaNyamazane Spin City will be on November 30 from 13:00 till late. The entrance fee is R60 for adults and R30 for kids and R100 for VIP parking.
