Angels host in-house Mayoral Cup awards
Some of the awards will be given to players who have shown dedication in a bid to take the team to another level.
As part of appreciating the dedication, commitment and good performance of his players, the Nelspruit Club Angels based in Msogwaba, will host their inhouse awards after recently winning the Mayoral Cup, at the local library on February 29.
Speaking to this publication the coach of the club, Nhlanhla Nkosi said, “The aim of the awards is to recognise players who performed very well.
We host this event every year because it’s a way of encouraging others to pull up their socks, but what makes this year’s ceremony unique, is that it is specifically for the Mayoral Cup games 2013, since we are the new champs.
Some of the awards that we will give to our players are for those who have shown dedication to take the team to another level, which includes player of the tournament and player of the season.”
He added that sport plays a very significant role in terms of preventing young people from being involved in criminal activities.
Soccer is one of the sports that has been identified as a sport that is able to unite all nations.
This was proven when history was made in South Africa when this country successfully hosted the FIFA 2010 World Cup games in different provinces.
Mpumalanga News learnt that management of the club took a step to take Nelspruit Angels to another level as this year they have introduced the u/17 team.
”I have been the coach of this team for five years. We decided to grow because we see that there’s a need to do that because we have noticed that young people are talented in soccer so we can’t just fold our hands. Let us do something to take their talent to another level,” he concluded.
