Sivutsa Stars’ fight to reach the play-offs continues
Even though Stars could not get a goal in their clash against Cape Town powerhouse, Santos FC, they put up a brave fight and managed to get a point from this encounter.
If the past weekend’s display by the National First Division side Sivutsa Stars is anything to go by, then the home team may still secure a space at the national play-offs and could go all the way to the country’s elite league, the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Even though Stars could not get a goal in their clash against Cape Town powerhouse, Santos FC, they put up a brave fight and managed to get a point from this encounter.
“I don’t want to sound like a broken record but yes, we are happy with the point we got from Santos.
“But I still believe we could have done even better than this. We could have gone all the way and punished them since we had home advantage.
“I have always maintained that as long as the fat lady hasn’t sung, we are not going to give up the fight. I will say it again, we will not give up until the last game,” said Stars PRO, Charles Nkosi.
Stars will have a week off and will only be back in action next Wednesday when they will face struggling Blackburn Rovers at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
Rovers are currently languishing on the bottom of the log while Stars are still in 11th position on the table.
“We will not underestimate Rovers, we are simply going there to play our normal game and fight for maximum points.
“The fact that they are fighting to get themselves out of the relegation zone actually makes them even more dangerous.
“I am sure the coach will prepare a better team for this game since we want to make each and every game count,” he said.
