Pick a bouquet of good wines

Spring is in the air and it is the best time to be outdoors.

Spring is in the air and it is the best time to be outdoors. What better way to spend a lazy Saturday, than at a Spring Wine Festival! Yes, last year the first Diemersfontein Pinotage on Tap was hosted at Kavinga and on September 27, 20 wineries will attend the event.

It is going to be a fun-filled day for the whole family and patrons can look forward to tasting over 100 different showcase wines.

Each guest will be welcomed with a goodie bag containing wine glass and a treat.

A range of food offerings will be available and some of our most famous chefs will be there to tantalise the taste buds.

The idea is to create a small market-style environment with seating areas inside and outside the venue, where you can enjoy your meal or just lounge around and listen to music. Makro will also sell wine.

Participating chefs or food stalls include Roelof’s Fresh Fish, Deepdishce, Jubeeda Yacoob with traditional biriani, Zest with lamb and chicken kebabs with roto and sambals, as well as Illy coffee and gelato.

Tickets will be available at R195 for adults and R90 for children up to 12 years, and can be bought at Food Fundi, Saffron Restaurant, Beza’s Bistro and Grill, and Zest.

The festivities will kick off at 11:00 and end at 18:00.
