Three Mpumalanga hopefuls for Nedbank Cup

Tonight many soccer lovers from the province will be glued to their screens when the Nedbank Cup last 32 draw is conducted.
For the first time Mpumalanga will have three teams – Witbank Spurs, Mbombela United and Acornbush United – in the pot when the draw is conducted.
Many soccer lovers will wish that all three teams must avoid one another and be given home-ground advantages. The qualification of the three teams to round of 32 is an indication that soon we might have our very own team in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Spurs have been in the National First Division (NFD) for too long and they need to move on by gaining promotion to the PSL as Acornbush will be soon in the NFD.
Mbombela missed out to gain promotion last season after losing out in the play-offs. Both Spurs and Mbombela still stand a good chance of qualifying for the play-offs this season. Acornbush seem to have already won the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League as they have been unstoppable since the season started.
All three teams have the potential to go to the next round of the Nedbank Cup. Baroka, while still campaigning in the ABC Motsepe League, showed everybody that there is no big or small team.

They go all the way until to the semi-finals. Along the way, they beat Moroka Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs.

All Mbombela, Acornbush and Spurs, as minnows, they will be hoping to draw one of the big guns as the recent history has shown lower league sides need to be treated with respect.

Draw Procedure:

Details: Draw Moderator/Master (Luxolo September). Draw Assistants: Professor Ronnie Schloss (Premier Soccer League) and Thulani Sibeko (Nedbank Representative).

* All 32 clubs will be placed in one pot

* There will be no seeding

-* In each sequence, the first ball to the drawn will be the home club and the second ball will be their opponent, the away club

* This process will be repeated until all fixtures are finalized

The draw will be broadcast live on SuperSport 4 at 19:30.
