But the nation still wants to know: Where is young Joshlin Smith?
More than a year after young Joshlin Smith went missing, the Western Cape High Court sitting in Saldanha Bay finally handed down judgment against those behind her disappearance.
Joshlin’s mother, Racquel “Kelly” Smith, and her accomplices, Jacquen “Boeta” Appollis and Van Rhyn, had been found guilty of human trafficking and kidnapping earlier this month.
Judge Nathan Erasmus on Thursday sentenced the trio to life sentences for human trafficking and 10 years for kidnapping. The sentences will run concurrently.
The three stared stone-faced at the judge as he delivered the verdict, with Smith rocking back and forth.
After judgement was handed down, Smith stood still before closing her eyes.
