Covid-19: The number of confirmed cases in Mpumalanga as of July 22

The Mpumalanga Department of Health confirmed that the number of Covid-19 cases in the province has increased to 8 251.

South Africa has a total of 394 948 confirmed Covid-19 cases, according to an announcement by the minister of health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, on Wednesday July 22.

A total of 8 251 of those cases have been recorded in Mpumalanga. According to data released by the Mpumalanga Department of Health, 3 434 recoveries have been recorded to date.

There have been 52 deaths in the province.
The number of positive cases in Mpumalanga can be broken down as follows:

Ehlanzeni District

  • Bushbuckridge: 209 cases, 128 recoveries and four deaths
  • City of Mbombela: 1 055 cases, 490 recoveries and three deaths
  • Nkomazi: 337 cases, 175 recoveries and one death
  • Thaba Chweu: 120 cases and 46 recoveries

Gert Sibande District

  • Chief Albert Luthuli: 128 cases and 44 recoveries
  • Dipaliseng: 182 cases and 108 recoveries
  • Dr Pixely Ka Isaka Seme: 217 cases, 138 recoveries and four deaths
  • Govan Mbeki: 1 196 cases, 429 recoveries and eight deaths
  • Lekwa: 361 cases, 148 recoveries and five deaths
  • Mkhondo: 151 cases, 72 recoveries and six deaths
  • Msukaligwa: 401 cases, 104 recoveries and four deaths

Nkangala District

  • Dr JS Moroka: 147 cases and 75 recoveries
  • Emakhazeni: 58 cases 13 eight recoveries
  • Emalahleni: 2 328 cases, 823 recoveries and 10 deaths
  • Steve Tshwete: 836 cases, 391 recoveries and three deaths
  • Thembisile Hani: 267 cases, 128 recoveries and four deaths
  • Victor Khanye: 258 cases and 122 recoveries.
