Parents are urged to monitor their children on TikTok and other social media apps after a video showing a man committing suicide went viral this week.

According to the Daily Mail UK, the video was originally live-streamed on Facebook before making its way to the video-sharing app early on Tuesday.
On TikTok, snippets of the video are not only widely accessible but are even being recommended to users without warnings.
My daughter didn’t have a choice when she saw it. The video was presented as a kitten video. Started with kittens etc but then it cut to the scene where he pulled the trigger. She has severe mental health issues & seeing that sent her into a breakdown. It was on her FYP.

TikTok, which is popular among teenagers, condemned people from sharing the disturbing video.
“We’re aware that clips of a suicide that was livestreamed on Facebook have recently circulated on other platforms, including TikTok. Our systems have been automatically detecting and flagging these clips for violating our community guidelines,” TikTok said in a tweet.
“We’re removing content and banning accounts that repeatedly try to upload clips, and we appreciate our community members who’ve reported content and warned others against watching, engaging, or sharing such videos on any platform out of respect for the individual and their loved ones.”
