[WATCH] Suspected meteor lights up the night sky in Polokwane
WARNING EXPLICIT LANGUAGE: Polokwane residents were awestruck after they witnessed what is suspected to be a meteor shower over the city.

POLOKWANE – Residents witnessed what is presumed to be a meteor in the night sky on Tuesday (August 24)
Local resident Liza Botha sent the footage to Review.
In the footage, you can see a ball of light appear out of nowhere and shoot across the sky leaving a trail of fiery debris. As suddenly as it appeared it disappears.
The same meteor was seen throughout the province and as far as Gauteng with readers taking to social media to share their experience.
Just seen multiple red/orange/yellow objects streaking (relatively slowly) in a westerly direction all the way across the sky in Magoebaskloof, Limpopo Province, South Africa. Meteorites? Satellite burning up on re-entry? @NASA @Radio702 @ewnbreaking @RoyalAstroSoc

Looks like a large rocket body or large satellite re-entry. Very shallow angle and relatively slow. Not a meteor. Must have been great to see. If seen over Zim, then Limpopo and then Pretoria, must have been in polar orbit. @nro and @nasa, you chaps know about the source?
