Murdered woman hidden under ceiling boards, under a tree in Limpopo
Authorities condemn a brutal killing in Limpopo and are calling on the community to help track down those responsible.
The Mokopane police in Limpopo have launched an investigation after the body of an unidentified woman was found on the R101, near Weenen High School, on Saturday.
Limpopo police report that the woman’s body was hidden under ceiling boards and plastic material under a tree and that she had sustained deep wounds across her body.
Polokwane Review reports that Limpopo police spokesperson, Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, says the victim is an African woman, light in complexion, estimated to be around 40 years old.
“The victim was wearing a powder-blue dress and matching takkies at the time of her discovery. She also had a flower tattoo on her right ankle and was wearing hair extensions. No identification was found on her,” he says.
Mashaba appeals to the public for assistance in identifying the victim and tracing her next of kin, as well as any information that could lead to the arrest of those responsible.
The provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, strongly condemned the killing and assured the public that those responsible will be brought to justice.
