Man killed over R100 debt, allegedly by co-worker

Community members intervened to detain a man moments after a colleague was stabbed, allegedly by him.

A man charged with killing his colleague following a dispute over an unpaid R100 debt is due to return to the Durban Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

Southlands Sun reports that Msawenkosi Msane appeared in court last Friday for a bail application, however, the matter was adjourned for further investigation.

According to the investigating officer, Sergeant Sifiso Shezi, the accused was arrested earlier this year after community members apprehended him shortly after the deceased was stabbed, allegedly by him.

The incident happened near the N2 towards Clairwood in KZN.

“A rank manager who witnessed the brawl between the two alerted community members. The deceased died due to severe stab wound injuries he sustained.

“The public then apprehended the suspect and called the police. He was charged accordingly,” says Shezi.

The court heard that Msane and the deceased worked together at a business in Clairwood.
