Mutilated body found in Mbombela
Police confirmed that a body of a woman was discovered in a bush in Mpumalanga by a foreign national who had been in hiding during the anti-migrant march.
The decomposed body of a woman was found in bushes near the traffic department on Kamagugu Road yesterday (June 30), reports Lowvelder.
The deceased is believed to have been in her 20s.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane confirmed that the body was discovered by a foreign national who had been in hiding following the March and March protests.
“Police found a used condom at the scene, and the deceased’s breasts had been cut off. The circumstances suggest that she may have been sexually assaulted,” Ndubane said.
Police have opened an inquest and are appealing to members of the public to come forward with information that could help identify the deceased.
