Nkandla contractor’s mom killed in KwaZulu-Natal
The mother of Nkandla contractor was stabbed to death 21 times at her home during a house robbery.
Victoria Mahlalempini, a 67-year-old mother of businesswoman Thandeka Nene, who is entangled in President Jacob Zuma’s Nkandla homestead debacle, was stabbed during a house robbery in Nagina, near Mariannhill in KwaZulu-Natal, on Wednesday, Highway Mailreported.
It was alleged Mahlalempini, an apostle with Power of God Ministries, was stabbed while holding an evening prayer with two young men at her home that evening.
Her 27-year-old son was outside when the attackers struck.
Police spokesman, Thulani Zwane said four men forced their way into the house at about 9.30pm.
The intruders allegedly tied up the hands of the three men and locked them in a wardrobe.
Zwane added that Mahlalempini was tortured in the living room before being brutally stabbed.
Her attackers ransacked her home, stole her TV and sound system and then fled in her car.
“Four men were arrested in Umzinto, on the South Coast, a few hours after the incident.
Two of the alleged attackers were questioned while the other two aged 20 and 34 were charged with murder and robbery,” said Zwane.
Nene was recently released on R30 000 bail, charged with corruption and 18 counts of fraud.
She is accused of allegedly falsifying the qualifications of her construction company, Bonelena Construction Enterprise, in order to secure tenders to build a school and other government contracts valued at R118 million.
It is believed Nene is demanding to face her mother’s killers to find out who sent them as she believes it was a set up.
On Monday, a 29-year-old man was stabbed to death during a house robbery in the Wembezi area, KwaZulu-Natal.

Police said the suspects took R80 from the woman and tried to rape her.
One of the suspects allegedly stabbed Mtshali in his shoulder with a knife.
Mtshali died instantly. Both suspects fled the scene on foot.
