The deadly Joburg fire reignites on different floor
Firefighters had worked throughout the night to get the fire out.
EMS spokesman Robert Mulaudzi has confirmed that the fire that took the lives of three firefighters on 5 September has reignited on a different floor, North Eastern Tribune reports.
Though the Emergency Services say firefighters left the building because the ‘water pressure was low, ’Mulaudzi added that firefighters have been working throughout the night and would still battle with the blaze this morning.
Metro police spokesperson, Edna Mamonyane confirmed that Sauer, Albertina Sisulu, Pixley and President Streets would remain closed till further notice. She explained that the area would be closed off as there was still flying glass and falling debris, and wasn’t safe for the public.
