Nine school pupils injured in Pretoria north accident

The driver of the vehicle was apparently transporting her – and her friends’ children – from a local primary school when the accident happened.

A mother and nine children were injured in Kameeldrift-East north of Pretoria on Wednesday afternoon, when their vehicle overturned near a school, Rekord North reports.

The woman and children were rushed to hospital following the accident in Kameeldrift Avenue.

Resident Santi Brown said three of the children in the vehicle were seriously injured.

“The information I received was that the prop shaft of the SUV broke and the car rolled at a turn in the road,” Brown said.

“I don’t think anyone could have foreseen the accident.”

Brown said the children and mother was recovering well after the accident.

“Most of the children only suffered scrapes and bruises,” she said.

Two of the children were still in hospital.

“We pray for swift healing and thank God for protecting His children.”
