Boy, 15, in court for attempted murder

A 15-year-old boy fired shots at two schoolboys aged 13 and 15 at Siyabonga High School in Illovo township, KwaZulu-Natal.

Colonel Jay Naicker confirmed KwaMakhutha police were investigating a case of attempted murder,South Coast Sun reported.

The suspect is expected to appear in Umbumbulu Magistrates’ Court today.

In a separate incident, a 17-year-old Mpumalanga pupil accused of stabbing a schoolmate to deathduring a fight over a girl appeared in the Kabokweni Magistrates’ Court last month.

Mpumalanga police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said the 17-year-old allegedly stabbed an 18-year-old pupil in a fight over a girl.

Provincial education spokesperson Jasper Zwane said the department would investigate the matter.
