VIDEO: ‘Customers’ rob internet café

Video footage shows four men, pretending to be customers, rob an internet café in Sabie, Mpumalanga.

The incident took place at 6.15pm on Tuesday, Lowvelder reported.

Four men are seen entering the Sabie Internet Café at around closing time. Suddenly one of them draws a handgun and forces the owner and two employees into a corner while the other three robbers stuff a number of laptop computers into a bag.

The armed man is said to have later demanded cellphones and wallets from those in the café. Investigations are ongoing.

This after police investigated a case of business robbery when two men pretending to be customers at a takeaway restaurant escaped with an undisclosed amount of money in Northmead, Benoni, in Gauteng in February.

Video footage shows the men queuing with the rest of the customers at the Roman’s Pizza outlet when one suddenly jumps over the counter after he pulls out a firearm.

A second clip shows a security officer responding to the scene when he suddenly encounters the robbers leaving the restaurant.

The two robbers fled the scene on foot. Investigations are ongoing.
