Policewoman, 42, shot dead by boyfriend, 21,

A case of murder and an inquest docket have been opened after a police officer was shot dead by her boyfriend in Kinross, Mpumalanga.

The unidentified officer was shot inside her house and ran outside, where she collapsed and died,Ridge Times reported.

Kinross Police Station Commander Phil Matlala told The Citizen an argument ensued at about 3pm yesterday when the boyfriend accused the woman of cheating.

Matlala added the boyfriend then turned the state firearm on himself and died an hour later after he was admitted at Evander Hospital.

Police found the firearm on the scene.

Last month, a police officer was shot dead by her boyfriend in KwaZulu-Natal.

It is believed Constable Penelope Buyisiwe Hlomuka, 31, was assaulted by her unidentified boyfriend, 31, at her home in Woodford Location, Bergville.

While she was loading her personal belongings into her vehicle in order to leave him, the boyfriend managed to get hold of her state firearm.

The man allegedly shot Hlomuka, seriously injuring her in the head before turning the weapon on himself.

The man died at the scene, while Hlomuka died later in hospital.
