Woman ‘raped’ while collecting child support from ex
A 24-year-old woman has been allegedly raped by her ex-boyfriend after he apparently called her to collect money from him in Izingolweni, KwaZulu-Natal.
Police spokesperson Captain Gerald Mfeka said it is believed the woman went to collect a child support grant from the father of her child last Saturday, South Coast Herald reported.
“However, when she arrived, he told her that he didn’t have the money with him and would have to go and withdraw cash. He thereafter raped the woman and fled,” added Mfeka.
The man was arrested the following day and appeared at the Ramsgate Court on Monday. The case was postponed for further investigation.
In a separate incident, a 32-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping and assaulting his teenage girlfriend in Temba, Hammanskraal, in Gauteng, in March.
Police spokesperson Constable Herman Moremi said the 16-year-old girl visited her boyfriend on Sunday in Mashimong section at about 8pm.
“When she arrived at his house, the suspect apparently accused her of cheating on him and began to kick and beat her,” added Moremi.
The man allegedly undressed the girl and raped her. The ordeal apparently continued the next morning.
Moremi said the suspect allegedly also used a sex toy to rape the victim.
