Board places North West Cricket CEO on precautionary suspension

An independent investigation is underway regarding North West Cricket CEO Ismail Minty in 'the interest of good governance'.

The current chief executive officer (CEO) of North West Cricket, Ismail Minty, has been placed on precautionary suspension pending the outcome of an independent investigation, reports Potchefstroom Herald.

North West Cricket released a media statement yesterday, stating that the board of directors had resolved this at a duly constituted special meeting that took place on Friday.

“This step has been taken in the interest of good governance and does not constitute a finding of wrongdoing. The board remains committed to ensuring organisational stability and continuity of operations, and an acting arrangement will be communicated in due course,” the statement read.

North West Cricket also added that they will not be providing further comment, as the matter is subject to an ongoing process.

Minty has been CEO of North West Cricket since July 1, 2023. He previously stepped into the acting CEO role after the former CEO, HP Prinsloo, resigned in 2022.
