18 months old baby drowns in swimming pool
CPR was performed on the child but unfortunately, no signs of life returned and the child was pronounced dead on the scene.
A young boy, believed to be 18 months old, drowned in a swimming pool in a residential complex in Vanderbijlpark, south of Johannesburg.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics were called to the scene on Tuesday when the grandmother was unable to find the child, the Vaal Weekblad reports.
“After sometime, the grandmother and neighbours found the boy lying in the swimming pool.”
“Upon arrival, ER24 paramedics found the grandmother performing CPR on the child. Paramedics took over CPR and initiated advanced life support interventions,” added Meiring.
Unfortunately, after one hour, no signs of life returned and the child was pronounced dead on the scene.
