3 killed in Gugulethu triple shooting

Police are searching for suspects after two men and a woman were shot dead inside a home and in the street in New Cross.

Detectives from the Western Cape Serious and Violent Crime Unit are investigating the motive behind a shooting that claimed the lives of two men and a woman in Gugulethu.

Police responded to a complaint in Nontulo Street, New Cross, at 20:22 yesterday.

Provincial SAPS spokesperson Colonel André Traut says officers discovered the bodies of a man and a woman inside a house.

“Both victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and upper body. A third male victim was found outside the premises with a gunshot wound to the back of his head,” says Traut, adding that the men are aged 33 and 46.

Investigation

Traut says the motive is unknown and forms part of the ongoing investigation.

“Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit detectives have been assigned to the case and will pursue all available leads with urgency and diligence to ensure that those responsible are brought to book,” he says.

Traut urges anyone with information about the shooting to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or use the MySAPS app anonymously.

“All information will be treated with strict confidentiality,” he adds.
