3 murder suspects killed in shoot-out with KZN police

Five suspects, believed to be responsible for the recent murders of four people, including two off-duty police constables, opened fire on police when they were cornered inside a house.

Three suspected criminals were killed in a shoot-out with police at Bhambayi in Inanda, KZN, on Saturday afternoon.

According to an article published by The Witness, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, KZN SAPS spokesperson, says police were acting on information about the whereabouts of the suspects who were wanted in connection with several murders in Inanda and Umlazi.

Five suspects, cornered inside a house, started firing at police. Police returned fire and a shoot-out ensued.

“During the shoot-out, three suspects were shot dead and three firearms were recovered. Two suspects narrowly evaded arrest and a manhunt for them is underway,” he says.

Netshiunda says the suspects are believed to be responsible for the recent murders of four people, including two off-duty police constables, and the attempted murder of four other people at a tavern in Sundumbili on Tuesday.
