3 shot dead in Soweto taxi war
Three members of a taxi association were killed this morning when occupants of another vehicle opened fire on their car.
Gauteng police are investigating the murders of three people who were shot dead in Mofolo in Soweto this morning.
Soweto Urban reports that the men were shot and killed on the corner of Zulu Drive and Nape Avenue in Mofolo at about 08:00.
“It is alleged that occupants of a grey or silver vehicle started shooting at the occupants of a Toyota Corolla, which resulted in the death of three men,” says Colonel Noxolo Kweza.
“The incident is believed to be a taxi association’s ongoing war, and all the victims belong to the association. All possibilities will be investigated,” he adds.
The police urge anyone with information that can assist with the investigation to contact Crime Stop at 08600 10111. Anonymous tip-offs can be made via the MySAPS app, which can be downloaded on any smartphone.
