4 injured in Pretoria CIT heist

The heist happened near Eersterust and two of those injured were members of the public.

Four people were injured during an apparent CIT heist on Stormvoël Road in Pretoria last night.

Details surrounding the heist are limited at this stage, but Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said they responded to the scene at around 18:00.

He said that upon arrival on the scene, the armoured vehicle was found to have overturned and had been opened with the use of explosives.

“Two security officers sustained moderate injuries. They were treated and stabilised on the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care.”

“Two members of the public suffered minor injuries and refused further care,” Van Reenen said.

Police did not comment on the matter at the time of publication.
